DETAILED SITE DATA FROM ABOVE, BACKED BY LICENSED SURVEYORS

Large tracts, dense vegetation, and active sites can make traditional ground surveys slow and costly. RAM Engineering uses drone-mounted LiDAR to collect millions of precise ground and surface measurements in a fraction of the time.

Our aerial surveys use current-generation LiDAR and RTK GPS equipment, and our Licensed Professional Land Surveyors tie every survey to ground control. The result is accurate, detailed data that supports planning, design, and construction.

WHY CHOOSE A LIDAR SURVEY?

Cover More Ground, Faster

Aerial LiDAR captures large or remote sites in hours instead of days, which reduces field time and keeps projects on schedule.

See Through Vegetation

LiDAR records multiple returns from each laser pulse, so it can measure the ground beneath trees and brush where photogrammetry and conventional methods struggle.

Safer Data Collection

Surveying from the air limits crew exposure to traffic, steep slopes, wetlands, and active construction areas.

OUR LIDAR SURVEY PROCESS

Every project begins with flight planning and ground control. Our team sets survey control using RTK GPS so the aerial data is tied to accurate coordinates and elevations.

We then fly the site with an enterprise-grade drone carrying an integrated LiDAR sensor and high-resolution mapping camera. That captures a dense 3D point cloud and true-color imagery in a single flight.

Once fieldwork is complete, our team processes, classifies, and checks the data against ground measurements. Deliverables can include:

  • Bare-earth surface models and contours
  • Classified 3D point clouds
  • High-resolution orthomosaic imagery
  • Topographic and planimetric mapping
  • Earthwork and stockpile volume calculations
  • CAD-ready files for design and engineering
